Pollen Allergies
If you or a family member suffers from hayfever, the allergic reactions you experience may be triggered by pollen from grasses, weeds or trees. Pollen seasons can last for months and are difficult to avoid.
Some plants produce small amounts of pollen which is spread between plants by birds and bees. But others produce large amounts that are blown around by the wind, and these airborne pollens are the ones responsible for causing allergies.
Seasonal hayfever plants
Spring hayfever sufferers are usually allergic to tree pollens. But if the problems occur in late summer and autumn, grass and weed pollens are probably the culprits.
Either way, it’s a good idea to keep windows and doors closed whenever possible, and to do your best to stay indoors when pollen counts are high.
